Abstract (EN)

Mediterranean temporary ponds (Annex code: 3170), which are among the priority habitat types to be protected in many countries, are habitats with high protection value, where dry and wet phase follow each other. These habitats, which were studied for the first time in our country, have been studied in order to reveal their biodiversity and ecolology in 3 localities (13 pools) in the Çeşme peninsula. For this purpose, soil and water pH-temperature values of the ponds were measured, physical and chemical analyzes were performed in the soil samples. The climate of the area is determined by evaluating the meteorological data and plant samples were also collected to determine the flora elements. It is determined by this study that the area underwent wetting, waterloged, drought and dry phases, and it is determined that the plant species spread in belts around the pool. In the flora studies, 228 vascular plants taxa of 45 families were determined. When the study area is evaluated ecologically, it contains an acidic colluvial soil, poor by lime, salt and organic matter, situated on the volcanic-based andesite bedrock. In addition, presence of habitat-specific symbolic species (Pilularia minuta, Isoetes spec nova) Gölobası locality is characterized as typical Mediterranean temporary ponds. It is determined that anthropogenic factors such as drainage channels in the study area, fire caused by WPP (Wind Power Plant) energy transmission lines and animal grazing threaten the habitat. In this study, the CR category is recommended for Pilularia minuta on national scale. It is one of the key species of the habitat and is already in the CR category on a global scale. In addition, an aquatic fern which is considered to be a spec nova of Isoetes was collected. Cistus monspeliensis, which is the upper zone characteristic of the habitat, is located in VU category in our country. For these reasons, it is suggested that the protection measures should be taken for these habitats which contain sensitive and rare species and the studies in this area should be expanded.
