Abstract (EN)
Skopos Theory is one of the most important theories of translation studies and target orientedness is a discourse of this theory. It has so far been known that this theory brings to the mind target orientedness and target orientedness puts forward an approach about the target part of the purpose. In terms of translation studies, Skopos theory means translating a text for a target audience and in this theory target culture determines the function of the translation. Finality having so far been mentioned when explaining this theory is associated with the fact that the translation activity starts with a target text and ends with that text, it is not explained with the presence of the source text. However, when discussing the concept of Skopos, its theory, teleology, the concept of target and its theory by getting to the root of them, a different approach than is known appears. The meaning of Skopos does not only bring to the mind the end of the purpose. Besides, the meaning of the concept of target is not only about the end of the target. When discussing concepts of Skopos and target in the field of TS, we come to a conclusion that this theory is understood wrong if the theory is considered only target oriented and the source text as the initiating process is not seen as the starting point. Especially based on the theory of Aristotle's four causes, when mentioned Skopos and target, we face a different Skopos theory and a target oriented approach. In this context, it is necessary to find a new theoretical approach by starting Skopos theory and target orientedness from the source text. In this thesis, we try to bring a new approach to Skopos theory and target orientedness within TS as the result of investigating this theory and teleological theories. In this direction, we aim to present a new approach within TS by tracing the scientific background of theories and their histories as well as putting forward a theoretical claim at first hand.
