Parole from the point of purpose of punishment

Punishment takes many different forms in history. Finally, it was agreed that imprisonment is the best form of punishment which reflects the new consciousness. With the changing paradigm on punishment, states put their punitive tendency aside and advanced a theory of punishment which advocated that criminal must turn to the society in good mood. After improsenment became the fundamental type of punishment, some lameness' occurred and it was realized that there were more requirements in this area. These factors turned to prison reform movements. At this point of history, political and economic developments - especially in North America and Northwestern Europe - bring penal law a totally new institution: Parole. Within the modernization efforts in Ottoman Empire, parole was quoted and this development took place in Ottoman penal law. But applying parole like in its original countries, took a long time. Parole, which convicts closely interested in, still continues to exist in Turkey's criminal enforcement law. At the same time, parole can be used for other purposes as a part of criminal policy in Turkey by governments. That's why investigating the historical development of parole and analyzing this case inside of purposes of punishment is crucial.
