Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to determine the prevalence of Salmonella spp. in raw chicken samples. For this purpose, 140 different raw chicken samples were obtained from butchers and markets in various districts in Ankara. The TS EN ISO 6579 standards were used to detect the presence of Salmonella spp. in the raw chicken samples. Possible colonies of Salmonella spp. were detected in 68 of the 140 samples. After biochemical confirmation tests, 68 isolates were molecularly identified through 16S rRNA sequence analysis. Four out of the 68 isolates (5.8%) were identified as Salmonella enterica.
