Abstract (EN)
There were discussions about whether games were a narrative or not in the years when games started to be studied as a science, but today these debates have left their place to game studies. The game story, which is one of the elements that forms digital games, is designed by game designers. However, it has not been clearly explained how the interaction, which has an important place in game studies, has an effect on stories with linear game design. In this study, the linear story of The Last of Us Part I and Part II games is examined in terms of kernel/satellite concepts. As a result of the examination, the movements and events that occur with the interaction of the player form the satellite events of the games. The kernel events, which do not allow the interaction of the player, offer new tasks in the game and have great importance in the game story, are materialized with cinematic cutscenes.
