Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of the sedimentary rock type dolomite used as concrete aggregate and the volcanic rock type basalt common in Cizre (Şırnak) on the concrete strength were investigated. In this context, core ash, water absorption and Los Angeles (LA) abrasion losses of dolomite and basalt aggregates were calculated. In order to compare the strength values, 9 cube concrete samples of 150x150x150 mm were produced, each with dolomite aggregate (DBC) and basalt aggregate (BBC), and after 7, 28 and 60 days, the unit volume weights were determined, and the average compressive strength values with a concrete press machine. calculated. In addition, alkali-silica reaction (ASR), which causes durability problem in basalt concrete, has been investigated. For the research, basalt aggregate (BBC) and basalt aggregate 20% cement and fly ash substituted (BBC20FA) samples obtained from Silopi (Şırnak) thermal power plant were prepared. As a method, the volumetric expansion of concrete samples was determined by the accelerated expansion method of ASTM C 1260-07 mortar rods, hydration products that could cause volumetric expansion were observed by electron magnetic microscope (SEM). Elemental changes in concrete samples were determined by energy distribution- X-ray (EDX). Its chemical change was investigated by X-ray diffraction method (XRD). In the study, it was determined that Cizre basalt used as aggregate in concrete increased concrete strength compared to dolomite, fly ash reduced volumetric expansion, increased concrete strength and durability (durability), and basalt from Şırnak-Cizre region did not cause ASR in concrete.
