Abstract (EN)
The phenomenon of child rights and child abuse gradually increases its importance in the developing world. Development and change also lead to an increase in child abuse. There is an important responsibility to prevent abuse and abuse in education and social studies teachers. The purpose of this study is; The aim of the course is to reveal the awareness of social studies teacher candidates about child rights and child abuse. As a means of data collection, 40 social studies teacher candidates and a semi-structured interview form were used. As a data collection tool, a semi-structured interview form was used. Data were analyzed with content analysis method. According to the findings of the study, it is concluded that social studies teacher candidates have sufficient knowledge about children's rights but they do not have enough knowledge about child abuse and abuse types. Social studies teacher candidates announced that they would report this problem to authorized persons in the face of child abuse. Prospective teachers stated that they were not sufficiently organized in terms of children's rights and abuse and that the deficiencies in the program were stated. Associations with the 2018 Social Studies curriculum were made. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that social studies teacher candidates have sufficient awareness about children's rights and child abuse but they need more education in which their education is not sufficient.
