Abstract (EN)

Children?s literature was created to develop childeren?s thoughts and dreams, their innate art and aesthetic sensibility, and imaging of intelligence which is a concept on the agenda since the beginning of the twentieth century in our country.This new concept, children?s literature, has been perceived consciously by the time that the concept was created by the translation of the classical Works in the west during the Reforms Term, Tanzimat Era/ Period. Especially, Republican period became a milestone in the development of the children?s literature, child and literature noticed more and many writers began to work in this area.One of these writers is Fakir Baykurt. Baykurt has given importance to the concept "child", focused in this concept in his works. He started his career with poem and he preferred ?Fakir? instead ?Tahir? which is his actual name, the poor alias Baykurt wrote several novels, short stories, and peotry for adults, as well as, without neglecting children?s literature, he has written `eight-story, a novel , and a fairy tale book' .The eight-story book?s evoluoted in this work; he wrote by considering children's stories shape, the content, language and narrative features, and gave the broad theme of education in this stories.Fakir Baykurt found necessary that child must be adressed with his/her environment, upholded that starting from an early age kids also should be compared with the realities of life. The Author, set out in this opinion, tried to acquire the values to the children as working, generation, solidarity, respect for labor in his tales and while doing that he tried to create awareness of language in childeren.Key Words: Child, children?s literature, children?s story, Turkish education.
