The mediating role of psychological resilience and self-efficacy in the relationship between psychological symptoms of childhood trauma and symptoms of stress disorder after trauma

The aim of this study is to reveal the mediating role of psychological resilience and self-efficacy in the relationship between psychological symptoms of childhood traumas and post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted with 384 university students aged 18 and over. In questionnaire form personal information form, Childhood Trauma Scale, Brief Symptom Inventory, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Symptoms Scale, Psychological Resilience Scale and Self-Efficacy Scale were used. Collected data were analyzed in SPSS program. T test, ANOVA and YEM were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that there was a positive correlation between the level of childhood traumas of university students and the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and their short symptom inventory, and a negative relationship between the level of childhood trauma and the level of psychological resilience and self-efficacy. In addition, it was found that there was a positive relationship between the level of post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and the short symptom inventory level of university students, and a negative relationship between the level of post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and the level of psychological resilience and self-efficacy. In addition, it was concluded that there is a positive correlation between the level of psychological resilience and self-efficacy level between the short symptom inventory level of the university students and the level of psychological resilience and self-efficacy.
