Supplier selection in the defense industry sector using multi-criteria decision-making methods

Due to the geopolitical position of the countries, their strategic structures and their economic situation, the defense industry sector is a constantly developing sector. Therefore, an economical, high-quality, efficient, efficient and continuous supplier chain network should be established. Supplier performance evaluation and selection of alternatives is an analysis system that will reduce external dependence for countries as dec as it is important for companies. When evaluating supplier performance, the evaluation of multiple criteria can be achieved by multi-criteria decision-making methods. In this study, it was ensured that the performance of alternative 5 subcontractor companies for a company operating in the field of defense industry was evaluated and selected. 8 Different criteria were determined by taking expert opinions in the evaluation, and the averages at the end of the year related to these criteria were evaluated. In order to evaluate the criteria, both weight calculation and supplier selection evaluation were performed in the TOPSIS method and AHP method using the ENTROPY weighting method, which is one of the objective weighting methods. As a result of these various evaluation methods carried out, it was seen that different criteria can be analyzed by sorting among alternatives and the most appropriate supplier selection can be provided for the dectoral parameters.
