Psychosocial problems faced by healthcare professionals during COVID-19

The Covid-19 pandemic emerged as a health problem, and in a short period of time dragged the whole world into a crisis from many angles. Covid-19, which creates psychological, sociological and economic problems, has been influential in personal and social life. However, isolation, unemployment, economic pressure, uncertainty, etc. It has led to stress, unwanted consequences such as anxiety, substance abuse, alcohol consumption, and violence. Covid-19 sourced in health workers during the pandemic; Acute Stress, Sleep Disorders, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Exhaustion, etc. There have been many such spiritual issues. With the declaration of the pandemic, health workers who were in the first line of the fight entered a high-risk working process such as being infected, carrier or contagious. When factors such as the spread of the pandemic throughout the society and the strain on the health system are added, the burden on health workers has increased considerably. In this study, it is aimed to examine the psychosocial problems faced by healthcare professionals during the Covid-19 period. The research was carried out with the participation of 200 health workers, including Midwife (n=15), Nurse (n=112), Technical Personnel (n=30) and Administrative Staff (n=43), who worked in a university hospital in Trabzon between November 2021 and February 2022 In the research, Covid-19 Fear Scale, Coronavirus Anxiety Scale and Covid-19 Perceived Risk Scale were used as data collection tools. As a result of the research, the health workers respectively; health care workers are most worried about the risk of their family catching coronavirus (x ̅ =3.57), they are worried about the risk of being infected (x ̅ =3.41), they are worried about the risk of further spreading of the pandemic in the region (x ̅ =3 ,41), they are uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19 (x ̅ =2.99), they experience tension or anxiety when watching news and stories about Covid-19 on social media (x ̅ =2.95), they are afraid of catching coronavirus ( x ̅ =2.57) was determined.
