Examination of the views of teachers and students on the teaching of Turkish through distance education within the scope of the Project on Supporting Inclusive Education for Children in the Turkish Education System during the COVID-19 global pandemic (PIKTES)

As a result of the Syrian civil war that started on March 15, 2011, Turkey received intensive migration from the neighboring country. According to the Migration Management, the majority of the arriving asylum seekers are children. In order for these children to continue their education without interruption, the Ministry of National Education has implemented a number of projects with European partners, but the COVID-19 outbreak, which spread from Wuhan, China to the world in 2019, has brought new problems in the field of education as in every field. Due to the aforementioned epidemic, it has been necessary to switch to distance education at all levels of education. There has also been a transition to distance education in the courses carried out within the scope of the Project on Supporting Inclusive Education for Children in the Turkish Education System (PIKTES). This study is the 2020-2021 education Within the scope of PIKTES, which took courses with distance education in the academic year and started face-to-face education in 2021-2022, it was aimed to reveal the opinions of 15 foreign students and 4 instructors who are studying in integration classes about the courses processed through distance education. In the study in the qualitative model, the data were collected through a semi-structured interview form and analyzed using the content analysis method. As a result of the research, it was found that both instructors and learners had problems due to language barrier, lack of devices and infrastructure. It is thought that the research will contribute to researchers in the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, curriculum and textbook preparers, educators and field researchers in course situations with hybrid education, distance education.
