Investigation of the mental impacts of healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 pandemic

Our aim in this study is to investigate the mental effects of healthcare professionals in the Covid-19 pandemic in Adana Seyhan State Hospital, Adana City Hospital, Adana Çukurova State Hospital and Adana Yuregir State Hospital within the borders of Adana province There are 419 healthcare professionals participating in the prepared questionnaire. The Applied Questionnaire Personal Information Form includes Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Coronavirus Anxiety Scale. The Personal Information Form includes the socio-demographic characteristics of healthcare professionals as well as information of their lives during the pandemic process. The evaluation of the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic and the levels of stress and anxiety has been evaluated in terms of the measures to be taken to protect and support the mental health of the healthcare professionals. Since the health workers are affected psychologically, they need to be supported psycho-socially. After the comprasion of the data obtained as a result of the application of the Hamilton Anxiety Scale and the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale to male and female healthcare professionals,it was determined that the anxiety levels of female healthcare professionals were significantly higher than the anxiety levels of male healthcare professionals. After comparing the Hamilton Anxiety Scale levels of healthcare workers with chronic illness,it was found that anxiety of healthcare workers with chronic illness was higher.
