Abstract (EN)
Human is an entity that feeds on emotions, can act with thoughts and tries to transfer and express his experiences with dreams and images to future generations, by turning them into abstract form, by spatializing them. These transfers can leave traces in societies through literature, poetry, painting, music, and architecture. Physical structures, streets, squares and even urban spaces that emerged in architecture have taken their place in literature and a strong relationship has been formed between them. While architectural spaces lose their functional meanings without users, poems too are deprived of the expression and existence of the emotions and thoughts felt without the reader. In the study, it is aimed to examine and question the relationship between the spaces that facilitate human life within the framework of architecture, where activities such as shelter, entertainment and rest are carried out, and in the field of literature, where the emotions, thoughts, dreams and events that exist in human life are permeated. For this reason, the place of architecture in poetry, which is a branch of literature, has been examined through the poets and poems of the Republican Period. Through the architectural concepts determined in the poems, the architectural concepts that the poets of the period experienced or transferred to their poems are revealed. The effect of the traces left in the memory of the reader by these concepts included in the poems is directly proportional to the clearer understanding of the poem and the space or space components to be described, and therefore the architectural spaces. It is thought that it is essential that the poems reflect the architecture, socio-cultural, aesthetic and environmental traces of the periods in which the poems were written, as well as examine the architectural concepts in terms of conceptual and semantics beyond their formal and syntactic features. In this context, the study is based on the analysis and evaluation of the architectural concepts defined in the poems of the Republican Period with the Discourse Analysis method. The study consists of six parts: in the first part, the definition of the problem, the purpose and importance of the study, the assumptions and limitations of the study are given. In the second part, the literature review is done, the theoretical framework of the research, the concepts of architecture and space, poetry and architecture are given and the result of the literature review is mentioned. In the third chapter, in order to reach the results of the study, the method of the study was explained and the analyses of the poems were made through the selected method. In the fourth chapter, the architectural concepts and their components related to the semantic analysis of the poems examined under the title of "Findings" are given. In the fifth chapter, under the title of "Discussion", evaluations were made on the titles and concepts obtained from the analysis of the poems. In the sixth and last chapter, the conclusions and recommendations of the study are given.
