Abstract (EN)

In this study, geological investigation, geological modelling and itinerary analysis of ongoing tunnel project which is called as T5 has been done where the motorway is located Mersin city and Anamur town linked to Kaledran township which is connected the two biggest city of Mediterranean (Mersin-Antalya). Consequently, the aim of this study is to define excavation classes, interpret them and offer some alternative suggestions about the project. On the contrary of the old plan of the slope analysis, the ongoing T5 Tunnel project has been standing on more safety zone for lanslide. In the region, it is generally exposed Çakmak Formation (Oç) which consist of brown colored, fragiled, a lot of joint and fractured. In the early slope analysis, slopes have been designed 1/2 but in the same formation were abandoned instead Tunnel project has been accepted because of some problem of the slope stability. In general, the Tunnel itinerary is presented by Çakmak Formation (Oç) composed with pieced – multi pieced zones due to active paleo-tectonics, in places frequent joint metamorphic rocks. On the tunnel face, depends on geo-mechanical features of the rock groups after excavation it has been excessively relief and mechanical separation occured. with this study, in the tunnel grounds are classified according to the Q-system, RMR and NATM, also stabilization techniques are determined which leads to possible to excavation, the project datas has been examined.
