Abstract (EN)

The aim of our study is to retrospectively examine the patient in the emergency room in terms of morbidity and treatment in the follow-up period after the discharge of the patient with a high D-dimer value and no disease pathology. Patients over the age of 18, who applied to Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in the two-year period between January 2018 and December 2019, were included in the study. Cases with high D-dimer values and no pathology detected and discharged were considered as the patient group. As the control group, it consisted of patients who were D-dimer negative and no pathology was found and were discharged. A total of 594 cases, 297 of which were D-dimer (+) and 297 D-dimer (-), were included in the study. While the rate of patients in the D-dimer (-) group was 1.68% (n=5), this rate was 56 18.86% (n=56) in the D-dimer (+) group, the difference was statistically significant (p=0.001) . The most common diseases in the dimer (+) group were pneumonia (n=11) and Coronary Artery Disease (n=5). While the exitus rate was 1.68% (n=5) in the D-dimer (-) group, this rate was 11.78% (n=35) in the D-dimer (+) group, and the difference was statistically significant (p=0.001). As a result, both morbidity and mortality rates were found to be statistically significantly higher in the D-dimer positive group.
