Prepositions in inline Dede Korkut stories

Dede Korkut Stories are one of the most important sources reflecting the language of the Oghuzs. Oghuz Turkish constitutes the first phase of Western Turkish. The word Oghuz is the name given to the dialect used by the Oghuzs. The examples that best reflect the dialect characteristics of the Oghuzs are also included in the Dede Korkut Stories. Dede Korkut Stories are one of the most important sources for us to see both the life culture and dialect characteristics of the Oghuzs. Prepositions are defined as words that do not have a meaning on their own and that come after nouns and enable them to establish a relationship between these nouns and other elements. Turkish has always needed prepositions due to its structure. Prepositions affect the meaning and structure of the sentence. When the prepositions are removed from the sentence, both the structure and meaning of the sentence change. Studies on prepositions have been examined only in terms of term characteristics. In this study, the structure of prepositions in Dede Korkut Stories was examined in terms of their function in the sentence.
