Values education in terms of Mehmet Akif Ersoy investigation of the book called Safahat

This study was written with the aim of reviewing the work "Safahat" of Mehmet Akif Ersoy with regard to values education and analyzing the poems included in the work with regard to the values determined by the Ministry of National Education. The poems included in the work were analyzed with regard to the fact that they touch on being fair, giving importance to the unity of family, tolerance, honesty, hospitality, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, philanthropy, independence, peace, being scientific, diligence, solidarity, sensitivity, esthetics, freedom, giving importance to being healthy, values of cleanliness and it was found out that these values were discussed in 607 different places either directly or implicitly. As a result of the findings, it was determined that Mehmet Akif Ersoy's work titled Safahat has a rich content as regards education of values. Based on the data that were obtained from the research, it was concluded that Mehmet Akif Ersoy's work titled Safahat is among the resources to be resorted on the subject of values education throughout the term of Turkish language teaching.
