Abstract (EN)
In this study, the role of goalkeepers in world football with changing game rules and developing game systems was investigated. As part of the review, all (28) Champions League final matches played since the 1992/93 season were analyzed using video analysis and scoring method and the defensive and offensive impact scores of all goalkeepers who served in the finals were calculated. A total of 28 seasons, 1993-1999, 2000-2006, 2007-2013 and 2014-2020, were divided into 4 quarter periods in order to make cleare the changing of goalkeepers profiles and impact scores by year by yaear. The findings were tried to be supported and interpreted by open-ended interview technique, which is another qualitative research method. As a result of the findings, it was noted that some of the goalkeepers who played in the Champions League finals maintained their success and form for a long time while others went into rapid decreasing of their careers. In football, it was found that the 3-point rule, back pass rule and offside rules, which were changed in the early 1990s, greatly affect the game played by teams. Most teams had to resort different game structures and systems, as a result of which there were serious changes in the profiles of goalkeepers. Especially since the first quarter, it is seen in changing goalkeeper profiles and game systems where the libero position has been abandoned in football and most of the libero's defensive and offensive duties have been assigned to goalkeepers. Obviously until these changes; goalkeepers have been found to meet and play with the ball with more feet over the years, increase their offensive impact points and improve their dominance of the penalty area. Expert opinions also support the findings in the study. Under review findings and expert opinions goalie and goalie coaches at all levels in accordance with all of the infrastructure to develop the skills for defensive purposes only, but also given a weight of players in other positions to be included in the training programmes improve their performance and coordination of the study is advised to follow developments in Textile Engineering.
