Determination of the pomological properties of some nuts (Junglas regia L.) genotypes growing in Demirci (Manisa)

Our country has an important potential in terms of walnut cultivation is important for our richness of genetic variation. Selection studies are important for the determination and protection of genotypes with the desired characteristics. Selection studies are the basis of determination of new varieties in breeding studies. This research was carried out in the center and districts of Demirci District of Manisa between 2018-2019 in order to determine the superior types of walnut populations. In this research, 130 walnut types were used by determining the characteristics of trees and fruit. At the end of the research, 20 walnut types were evaluated in terms of pomological and phenological observations. As a result, it was determined that Dem.45.KarY, Dem.45.KoAlt, Dem.45.KoTop and Dem.45.Mah types are promising in selection studies.
