Abstract (EN)

In our country, occupational health and safety law no 6331 was published in 2012 in order to implement the occupational health and safety concept completely. This law is based upon preventive approaches and gives priority to collective protection precautions. In cases as collective protection precautions are not provided or sufficient, personal protection precautions are implemented. Within the scope of this thesis study, personal protective equipments of a facility which is responsible from maintaining and repairing of railway vehicles being used to maintain transportation operations in railway industry were determined systematically. In order to determine personal protective equipments in the facility; first, indoor measurement was performed, and then with the help of these measurements, danger and risk inventory was generated using "5x5 L-type Matrix Risk Assessment Method". During the later process; with regard to the danger and risk inventory, personal protective equipments were classified and then personal protective equipments which were suggested to be used for the facility's entire departments separately were selected. In this thesis which is prominent for being the first in the railway industry, a standard related to the personal protective equipments to be used based on the works in the implementation facility is created and suggestions about this case is given. Also, this study sets a good example to the other railway vehicles maintenance and repair facilities, in terms of the information given for choosing personal protective equipments.
