Occupati̇onal health and safety measures to be taken duri̇ng the warehouse constructi̇on phase i̇n the warehousi̇ng industry

Warehousing processes, which are part of logistics services, are a crucial part of the success of all manufacturing and service sectors. Ensuring occupational safety in this process is under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Although many studies are carried out on occupational health and safety in the storage sector, the studies carried out to prevent possible future negativities, work accidents and occupational diseases before starting operations in the storage sector are limited. In this study, first of all, based on the data obtained from the accidents that occurred in the storage processes of the logistics operation, the measures that can be taken during the warehouse construction processes to prevent these accidents were tried to be discussed. The establishment of storage areas should not be considered as ordinary construction processes. As a matter of fact, during the construction phase, storage areas, one of the most important elements of the logistics industry, should be designed in accordance with the field of activity, and safe work areas, especially occupational accidents, should be addressed from the beginning of the construction phase. Emergencies, fire safety, flash and explosion precautions, shelf safety, safe floor, manual handling, safe equipment use, electrical safety, traffic regulation are some of these elements. In our study, it is aimed to determine the elements that will ensure occupational health and safety in an active warehouse after the construction process, as well as occupational health and safety during warehouse construction processes.
