Abstract (EN)

This thesis includes deep foundation excavation geotechnical studies of a multi storey building located on the Istanbul province, Şişli district, Cumhuriyet neighborhood, 144 sections, 994 islands, 14 parcels, measuring instruments used in these studies and evaluation of measurement data obtained from these instruments. Eight geotechnical drilling were carried out to determine the geological and geotechnical characteristics of the project area. Information about the ground was obtained before the excavation with the drillings made and the geotechnical measuring instruments required for safe excavation in this way were determined. Temporary support systems were used in order to provide stability in the foundation excavations in the project. The aim of the deformation observations were located inclineometer, shape accel array, extensometer, piezometer, magnetic seating column, surface monitoring and load cell designated points In the scope of the thesis, geotechnical measuring instruments such as Inclineometer, Extensometer and Loadcell and geotechnical measurements taken from these instruments have been evaluated. In the result of the instrumental measurement, deformations were determined in the greywacke unit where was clayey and weathered zone and the necessary precautions were taken beforehand to prevent major damages.
