Abstract (EN)

Pressure vessels are geometrically cylindrical, spherical, or conical work equipment used for the storage and transportation of various liquids and gases with an internal pressure of more than 0.5 bar, which has a key role in all compressor systems. Damages that may occur if pressure vessels are not designed and produced correctly or used incorrectly due to working conditions can cause serious damage to the environment and employees. The focus of this study is to develop a Finite Element Model to predict the performance of separator tank pressure vessels used in screw compressor systems subjected to high pressure and temperature and to compare different types of heads manufactured using conventional materials. In addition, after determining the appropriate head type, the separator tank has been numerically modeled using different composite materials and its performance has been examined. As a result of the study, it has been seen that metal-lined and composite wrapped pressure vessels are safer under applied loading conditions than those designed with conventional materials. In addition, it was decided which dish end, material, and direction angle should be designed to use the separator tank within the safety limits.
