Determination of conformity of urban transformation project in Gaziantep city with the new earthquake code by using SAP2000.

The structural characteristics of a seismic building in Gaziantep, Turkey with 2007 and 2018 Turkish Earthquake code by using SAP2000 v20.2 have been analyzed in this thesis. The city is located on the East Anatolian fault with several seismic activities. The geotechnical properties of the related area have been carried out by using 2007 and 2018 Turkish earthquake codes to obtain elastic spectrum acceleration values. DD-2 is selected as the main earthquake design data via using the new earthquake code 2018 in the analysis. The target spectrum having 10% probability of exceedence in 50 years for the bedrock level has been estimated using the attenuation relationships between the terms after a number of analyses. The response spectra has compared to the design spectra given in the Turkish Seismic Code (TSC-2007) and 2018 Turkish Earthquake code for the related seismic zone. The local earthquake site spectrum, TSC-2007 and 2018 Seismic Code spectra have been analyzed by using seven different real earthquake records. The time-history analyses of the Reinforced Concrete buildings according to the 2018 Earthquake codes have indicated that the earthquake records scaled by the local spectrum induced higher base shear force, overturning moment and top lateral displacement values in the 2007 Earthquake codes.
