Abstract (EN)

"Family", which is at the center of social policy, ensures that society takes root like a plane tree. The most important purpose of marriage is to create a new and different family. Two separate individuals come together under one roof and create the infrastructure for the new family they long for, that is, they build a new form of relationship by creating a family. Our children will grow up as conscious individuals and form healthy families, thus ensuring the transfer of strong societies from generation to generation. However, this is not the case for disadvantaged groups. Individuals who have spent part of their lives under state protection grow up without many emotions, especially parental love. When these individuals leave institutional care, they face many challenges in their new life adventure. It is likely that individuals who have been raised in institutional care may also experience problems after establishing their own families. Children who grow up without parents have difficulty in obeying the authority figure. This is why children raised in state protection try twice as hard as other parents to be good parents. They want their children to experience the emotions they cannot experience. The processes experienced in institutional care have caused the concept of family to deepen in parents. This study will examine the parenting processes of individuals who grew up in institutional care and the effects of growing up in institutional care on their parenting, taking into account individuals who spent some or all of their lives in institutional care. In this context, the main problem of the study is the perception of family, the reasons for having children, the meaning of being a parent for these individuals and the problems they experience in parenting processes. As a result of the interviews conducted with the study group determined by taking all these reasons into consideration, the perspectives of individuals on the concept of family, the meaning of parenthood for them and the negative situations they experience in parenting processes were determined, and it was aimed to contribute to scientific knowledge with this study within the framework of policies and suggestions that can be implemented in this regard.
