Sociology as a reacton to revolution: Revolution, the French Revolution of 1789, progress and tradition

In this study, by opening up the concepts of "revolution" and "tradition" to discussion, I tried to examine how possible, sustainable and correct for a society design independent of the community and its values through the founding fathers of sociology. In "Introduction", after limiting and embodying what we want to explain with the concept of "revolution" and "tradition", I introduced the assumptions of the study and identified the main problems of each assumption. In the first chapter ("Revolution, Progress and Enlightenment") I tried to examine how the modern content of the revolution was shaped. In the second chapter ("The French Revolution of 1789: Intellectual Construction of Society) I tried to examine how the French Revolution of 1789 resulted in a society design independent of tradition, the concrete structure of tradition and its values. In the third chapter (Sociology as a Reaction to French Revolution of 1789) I tried to examine the point of view of the founding fathers to the French Revolution of 1789 and the relationshiop between the founding fathers' sociological analysis with tradition, community and its values. The assumptions we put forward in this study in general are as follow: The Enlightenment philosophy based on the idea of progress determined the modern content of the revolution and formed the theoretical consciousness of the French Revolution of 1789. The social design of the French Revolution of 1789 shaped by the Enlightenment philosophy resulted in chaos and crisis. It is not possible and sustainable to evaluate society independetly from tradition, fron the community structure in which tradition has concrete form and its values.
