Abstract (EN)

This study aims to analyze the relations of power in urban life from a Lacanian point of view through the sample of the Kapıcılar Kralı movie. The study uses the unconscious, symbolic order and discourse concepts of French thinker Jacques Lacan in making this analysis. Lacan's concepts are analyzed within the framework of urban sociology and daily life. In this context, it is accepted that the apartment life in the film represents social life. The film Kapıcılar Kralı was accepted as a text reflecting the social structure of the period in which it was produced and the characters in the film were considered as representatives of the social classes of the period.
