Abstract (EN)

The primary objective of this study is to assess the marital adjustment of parents who have children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). To accomplish this, two distinct study groups were formed. The first group comprises parents who have children with ADHD, while the second group consists of parents who do not have children with ADHD. A total of 50 parents from each group participated in the study, with the questionnaires administered online. The questionnaire form is divided into four sections: the first section captures demographic information, the second section includes the Perfectionism Scale, the third section encompasses the Marriage Adjustment Scale, and the fourth section focuses on the Parental Attitudes Scale. The collected data underwent various analyses, including descriptive statistics, T-tests, ANOVA, MANOVA, and Pearson Correlation analysis. The research findings revealed no significant difference in the perfectionism scale among the parents. However, the parents with a child diagnosed with ADHD demonstrated lower marital adjustment scores compared to the other group, as indicated by the significant results of the T-test. Additionally, through one-way multivariate analysis (variance), it was observed that both parents with a child diagnosed with ADHD and parents without an ADHD diagnosis significantly influenced the sub-dimensions of the Parent Attitudes Scale, specifically the democratic, protective-demanding, and authoritarian aspects.
