The use of digital stories in religious education

In our country, formal and non-formal religious education activities carried out by the Ministry of National Education and the Presidency of Religious Affairs help students to be trained in accordance with the purpose of the basic law of national education with the determined curriculum. In order for these teaching programs to be implemented in a healthy way, the subjects and achievements in the program should be enriched with teaching, methods and techniques. Especially in the application of these methods, the power of the materials is quite high. In this study, it has been tried to include examples related to the use of digital storytelling, which has just started to be used, in religious education. Document review and content analysis methods were used in this study, which aims to determine what digital stories can be used in formal and non-formal education programs as teaching materials. The digital stories obtained as a result of the analysis with the keyword "religious stories" were analyzed using the content evaluation form developed by the researcher. In the findings obtained under three different sections, in the first section, information about the detected digital stories and the viewing rates on the obtained digital platform are given. In the second part, each digital story series was subjected to content analysis in line with the themes included in the content evaluation form created by the researcher, and the course and outcome matches of the digital stories in the series were made. In the third part, a general evaluation of the concepts in the content evaluation form has been made and the digital story that can help teach each concept has been presented in a table by pairing it with its lessons and achievements. As a result of the study, a total of 111 digital stories from four different story series were determined, and it was determined that 77 of these digital stories could be used as teaching material in 19 lessons and 152 different learning outcomes.
