Investigation of the relationship between religion and marriage compliance on some personal variables

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the religious characteristics and marital adjustment levels of married individuals in terms of some personal variables. The research population consists of married couples in the district of Oğuzeli in Gaziantep. The study group consists of 167 married couples (334 married individuals) in the center of Oğuzeli. The data are collected by the "Piety Scale", "Marital Adjustment Test" and "Demographic Variables Form". One-way analysis of variance and independent sample t-test and correlation analysis are used to analyze the data.As a result of the research, the total scores obtained from the religiousness scale in terms of occupation, length of marriage, number of children and marital age; in terms of gender, occupation, duration of marriage, type of marriage, number of children and age of marriage; belief sub-dimension scores in terms of occupation and duration of marriage; emotion sub-dimension scores in terms of occupation and educational status of the spouse; information sub-dimension scores in terms of age, duration of marriage, number of children and perceived socio-economic status; the importance of the belief in terms of the person in terms of the number of children and socio-economic status; It is observed that the scores of the effect sub-dimension significantly differed in terms of educational status, occupation, duration of marriage, type of marriage, number of children, education level of spouse and the profession of the spouse.In terms of socio-economic status, the total scores obtained from the adaptation scale in marriage; in terms of socio-economic status of the agreement sub-dimension scores; style sub-dimension scores differed significantly in terms of age, education level, marriage duration, marital status and socio-economic status. However, it is observed that the scores of the scales and scales used in the study does not differ in terms of the age difference between the spouse and the age difference. There is a positive correlation between marital adjustment and marital adjustment.The results of the research are discussed and interpreted with the relevant literature.
