Scouting as a tool of religious socialisation "A research focused on scout leaders"

One of the basic principles of the Scouting method, which has been accepted internationally and has been applied for more than a century, is "duties to God (Allah)". The effort to reveal the effects of the activities carried out within the scope of duties towards God on the religious socialization processes of the scouts from the perspective of the leaders, who are the practitioners of the scouting method, forms the basis of this study. In this context, a study was conducted with the participation of a total of 48 people, 41 scout leaders, 7 scout volunteers, mostly from different cities and clubs, selected by the "convenience sampling" method, one of the non-probability sampling methods. The "semi-structured interview" method was used to reach the data. The open-ended questions prepared in this context were delivered to the participants via "Google Forms" due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The findings were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method and making use of the relevant literature. The participatory observations I have made in the camps I have attended and the scout groups I have trained can be counted as a contributing factor to the interpretation of the findings.
