Abstract (EN)
Ormanoğlu Ö. Relationship of NIRS (Near-Infrared spectroscopy) with Heat, Flow and Hemoglobin in Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Patients, Namık Kemal University Health Sciences Institute, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Perfusion Program, Master Thesis, Tekirdağ, 2020.Coronary artery disease is rapidly treated with the development of open heart surgery in the world and in our country. The progression of cardiovascular diseases in patients with type 2 diabetes has been proven by studies. The main purpose during coronary artery bypass graft surgeries is to protect myocardium and other organs from being oxygen-free and inadequate blood circulation. With the development of the NIRS device, observing the extent to which brain perfusion is achieved, especially, is guiding, although completely accurate data are not obtained. In our study, two patient groups consisting of 25 people who had Type 2 diabetes (Group 1) and not (Group 2) who underwent CABG operation were formed. During the surgery, blood gas evaluation was made at determined intervals and hemoglobin values were followed in this evaluation. At the same time, body temperature was monitored via the esophageal probe, and blood flow was monitored with the heart-lung machine, and its effect on oxygen values read from the NIRS device screen was investigated. In terms of both groups, the oxygenation of the brain was lower in group 1 patients than in group 2 patients. Haemoglobin value of group 2 patients was measured higher than group 1, which was seen as evidence that it carried more oxygen to prevent brain ischemia during surgery. The body temperatures did not differ in the same proportions in both groups. No significant difference was found in terms of flow values. Throughout the operation period, basal rSO2 values decreased over time, while the bypass was terminated, it approached the basal value again.
