This study aims is to examine the relationship between the level of rational drug use knowledge, health perception and healthy lifestyles of people with diabetes. The study is descriptive and was conducted in Şanlıurfa Number 4 Eyyübiye Ertuğrulgazi Family Health Centre between October 2021 and August 2022. The sample of the study consisted of 194 individuals diagnosed with diabetes. Mini mental tests for educated and uneducated people, descriptive information form, rational drug use scale, health perception scale, type 2 diabetes and health promotion scale were used for data collection. Descriptive statistics, t test in independent groups, Mann Whitney U Test, Krukall Wallis Analysis, Variance Analysis and Pearson Correlation Analysis were performed in the data analysis. The ethics committee, institutional and participant permissions were obtained for the study. It was found that 9,8% of individuals with diabetes knew rational drug use. While no significant relationship was found between the mean score of the rational drug use scale and the health perception scale (r = ,095, p = 0,188), a positive, weakly significant relationship was found between the mean score of the rational drug use scale and the type 2 diabetes and health promotion scale (r = ,220, p = 0,002). As a result, it is recommended to carry out interventional nursing studies to improve the knowledge of rational drug use, positive health perception and healthy lifestyles of individuals with diabetes.
