Evalutaion of application properties i̇nsülin for diabetic patients

Type 1 diabetic patients start using insulin from the time of diagnoses and type 2 diabetic patients start in the later years of their treatments. One of the most important factors in controlling metabolism activities by patient that use insulin is the usage of right techniques when administering insulin. The purpose of this research is to determine the accuracy of the insulin injection using insulin pens by the patients that need to use insulin for treatment and to determine the level of satisfaction of diabetic treatment by using the Diabet Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (DTSQ) measurements. This research was done on 74 patients that came to these hospitals or was treated in these hospitals between the dates of May 2011 and August 2011, and who had been using insulin for at least a year and signed the consent form. Patients glucose when hungry and full and HbA1c analysis were done. Patients were questioned about their diabetic period, medicines that they used, whether they had diabetic education, whether they used any other medicine for chronic illnesses. Patients were given the Insulin Administration Analysis form and DTSQ measurements.The survey showed that there is a meaningful relationship (p = 0,022) between diabetic patients? insulin usage period and diabetic treatment satisfaction. There is also a meaningful relationship (p = 0,008) between average total ratings of Insulin Administration Analysis form and persons that administers the insulin. There is also a meaningful relationship (p = 0,047) between Insulin the Administration Analysis form and the frequency in going to health check for diabetes. This study found meaningful relationships among ratings of the Insulin Administration Analysis form, economic situation, person that administers the insulin injection, frequency of health check and diabetes related complication ratings. There is a meaningful relationship between the total average points of DTSQ and the insulin usage period.
