Abstract (EN)

Ill SUMMARY This study was made to determine the washability properties of upper and lower sub bituminous coal seams from Diyarbakir-Hazro region and investigate the relevant coal cleaning methods. The properties of the coal used in the studies were as follows: the upper coal seam contained %2,76 moisture, %24,14 ash, %37,27 volatile matter, %2,34 sulphur on original bases and had 5938 kcal/kg gross calorific value, the lower coal seam contained %1,64 moisture, %40,07 ash and %26,78 volatile matter. Sink and float experiments have been made to determine the washability properties of the -50+19 mm, -19+4,75 mm and -4,75+0,5 mm size fractions. Density distribution, clean coal amount, schist quality, washing convenience and washability degree have been used in utilizing the coal cleaning characteristics. -50+19 mm, -19+4,75 mm and -4,75+0,5 mm size fractions from the upper coal seam have been evaluated by heavy media separation and -0,5 mm size fraction has been evaluated by flotation. Heavy media separation has been carried out on the -50+19 mm, -19+4,75 mm and -4,75+0,5 mm size fractions of the lower coal seam. But combustible yiels of the clean coal have been fairly low. Results obtained from the flotation experiments made on the lower coal seam were negative because of the high ash content and very fine liberation size (-0,075 mm). MKftMAKBUYON MERKEZİ
