Lentil is one of the most important products that has a high contribution to livelihood in dry farming fields in Diyarbakır. Weeds take an important place among the plant protection issues of lentil. This study was done during 2017 in 55 lentil fields located in six districts, which included central districts (Kayapınar an Sur) and five other districts (Çermik, Çınar, Ergani, Bismil, Silvan) in Diyarbakır province. In this work, we recorded the types of weeds in lentil, their intensity and frequency. In the surveyed fields, there were two parasitic, 11 monocotyledonae, and 76 dicotyledon weeds. In total, there were weed species belonging to 26 families and 75 genus, and weed species' density was 35 plants m2 Throughout the surveyed lentil fields in various districts, the highest number of weed species has been encountered in Silvan (78) and the other districts with highest weed number were Ergani (51), Merkez (45), Bismil (35), Çınar (33), and Çermik (25), respectively. The results showed that the most recorded species was Sinapis arvensis L. (7,38 number/ m2) followed by Avena sterilis L. (6,55 number/ m2), Ranunculus arvensis L. (3,49 number/ m2), Papaver sp. (2,78 number/ m2), Anthemis sp. (2,11 number/ m2), Vaccaria pyramidata Medik. (1,72 number/ m2), Galium sp. (1,43 number/ m2), Vicia sativa L (1,19 number/ m2). As for as the frequency is concerned, the most common species have been determined as Sinapis arvensis L. (87,96%), Vaccaria pyramidata Medik. (87,22%), Papaver sp. (84,38%), Vicia sativa (77,02%), Ranunculus arvensis (68,11%), Avena sterilis L. (67%), Cephalaria syriaca (L.) Schrad (61,93%), Silene conica L. (53,59%) and Anthemis sp. (52,60%)
