Abstract (EN)
In this study, post-occupancy evaluation of mass hosing settlements in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa has been carried out. The architectural characteristics of the mass housing and their performance levels from user?s point of view have been compared. The purpose of the study is to determine the similarities and differences between types of housing. This thesis is consisted of eight chapters. In the first chapter, housing problem which is result of rapid urbanization and the concept of mass housing is explained. Furthermore, the subject field and the scope of the study are unfolded. In the second chapter, previous studies and their content are given. In the third chapter, history of establishment, aim, duties, applications and future targets of Housing Development Administration are explained. In the fourth chapter, description, aim, benefits, usage field and research techniques of post occupancy evaluation which is the methods of the study are clarified. In the fifth chapter, the methods of the study, the parameters used in the evaluation of the performance of houses and their close environments, properties of users participated questionnaire are pointed out and the study area is explained. In the sixth chapter, findings obtained from mass housing in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa are presented. Results are discussed and interpreted in the seventh chapter.
