Abstract (EN)
It was conducted in a randomized controlled manner to examine the effects of delivery in a delivery chair on maternal satisfaction, delivery duration and the newborn. The study sample consisted of a total of 128 (Delivery chair group 64 and Control group 64) expectant mothers and their babies. The research data were obtained using the personal information form and the Maternal Satisfaction Evaluation Scale during Delivery. The total duration of the second stage of labor in the control group was significantly longer than the delivery chair group (p<0.05). İt was determined that the delivery chair group had more difficulty in breastfeeding than the control group (p<0.05). It was determined that there was no difference between the babies in the delivery chair group and the control group in terms of 1st minute and 5th minute APGAR scores, the baby's first urination and defecation status, the baby's problems during delivery, respiratory support and the baby's need for aspiration (p>0.05). While the mothers in the control group were more satisfied with the postpartum care dimension than the birthing chair group, it was determined that the satisfaction of the mothers in the birthing chair group was higher in the control group in the dimensions of respect for privacy and meeting expectations (p<0.05). As a result; the duration of the second stage of birth in the birthing chair is shorter than in the birthing chair. The birth satisfaction of the mothers who gave birth in the birthing chair was higher in the control group in the dimensions of respect for privacy and meeting expectations. It may be recommended that births in the birthing chair be preferred in terms of maternal and infant outcomes.
