Determining the technological and pedagogical context knowledge level of the 4th grade teachers on the unit; electric in our life

The aim of this investigation is to determine the level of the technological and pedagogical context knowledge of the 4th grade teachers, on the unit; electric in our life. Totally 53 teachers from the cities; Şanlıurfa, Elazığ and Kayseri has contributed to this research. In this research, it is aimed to determine the subject program knowledge, the pedagogical knowledge (TPACK) and the technological knowledge of the primary school teachers. Subject program knowledge is the combination of Conceptual Knowledge and Nature of Science. In this study, the quantity and quality data collection tools were used together in order to measure the TPACK level of the 4th grade teachers, in detail and confidently. Four data collection tools such as; Questionnaire of Nature of Science, Conceptual Test Related to Electric, Vignette, Content Representation were used. SPSS16.0 statistical program was used for the descriptive statistics of the obtained data during the research. Percentage (%) values, frequency values and Pearson correlation analysis techniques were used. According to the obtained data of the research, it was observed that the primary school teachers have not adequate subject program knowledge. It was also seen that, the teachers have no enough Pedagogical knowledge, which was assumed into five parts, such as; program knowledge, learning difficulties knowledge, teaching strategy and method knowledge, concluding knowledge and surrounding. Similarly, it was concluded that, General and Technological knowledge about the subject is not in the desired level.
