Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on the process of the characters of Dostoevsky and Oğuz Atay, constituting their identity in social-historical context. It also examines the Turkish and Russian societies? experience of Westernization process and its reflection on literature along with the authors? perception and interpretation of West in Notes from Underground and The Disconnected in terms of modernization and by providing an overview of the historical circumstances.
