Abstract (EN)

Migration is an important phenomenon that concerns the whole world. Migration is not only the displacement of the individuals, but also the displacement of the individual's culture, language, lifestyle and values. As a result, immigrant individuals are faced with many adjustment problems in, cultural, social and linguistic. Education adjustments is one of the most important adjustment problems that immigrants are faced. The failure of the adjustment of migrant families' children to their school, to their friends, to their teachers and to the education system poses a problem both for migrants and for existing students. This study analyzes the adjustment problems experienced by the immigrant students. The research is in the quantitative analysis model. The data of the study were obtained through a questionnaire, which was adapted from the questionnaires used in the researches conducted by Pirliyev (2010), Bozan (2014) and Selçuk (2014), based on the opinions of the teachers and administrators working in the secondary schools with the immigrant students in the city of Esenler. As a result of the research, it was observed that most of the students were experiencing adjustment problems due to cultural and language differences. In addition, it has been observed that the economic problems experienced by the immigrant family also affects the adaptation experienced by the students who migrated. The information generated by the research provides information for experts and researchers in this field.
