Expressionism in painting is one of the spiritual reflections of a strong trend which seeks anti-rational alternatives against the social fragmentation and the estrangement in the bourgeois capitalism of the German culture, depending on social, political and economic factors. The socio-ideological (Chauvinism, Nazism / Racism) and philosophical factors (Irrationalism, Existantialism) that enabled the long lasting victory of the fascism as a result of the romantic reactionaryism aspect of the anti-democratic foundations laid in Germany, and the socialist action born out of a belated, but very fast-developed capitalism as a massive reaction to imperialist world wars took its place as the main factors in the formation of the German Expressionism. As in Socialism, an enormous outcry akin to that of Prometheus was raised in the name of justice against object, class inequalities, fascism of the power, intellectual barbarism, mechanization and centralism in Expressionism. The influence of the Expressionist Art in Germany, which embraces Germanic connotations in all aspects, depends on the industrialization, the delayed social reforms, the military managements as well as the outside factors in connection with feodalism, which the Gothic heritage created. The inside factors in this regard reveal an estrangement of a historical-romantic and melancholic reflex generated by the inner conflict between society and individual, which has transformed into inwardness. The expressionists have turned human?s evil, ugly and tragic aspects mechanized and estranged by the effect of economics?politics, the social and political agonies, fears, sadism, cruelties, passions and longings of the era and also the mechanical human movements depending on disarticulation into a veristic art perception in a critical manner by means of the regression of thoughts for the aim of emphasizing the chaos and social unability in a society.The fact of multi-segment estrangement after expressionism; the contemporary literature and art which study the disintegration caused by the economic structure and this structure?s factors such as commodification, reification, commoditization, exclusion, meta-fetishism, which occurs between human-society, human-nature, human-sprituality, as an important subject continues to reflect the crises of the capitalism and the developing technologies that dehumanize people and cause their disappearence by underlining the spoilt, isolated and absurd life of Frankenstein-like modern human.Keywords: Modernism, Meta-Fetishism, Reification, Alienation, Marxism.
