Abstract (EN)

In this study, concepts of emotional intelligence and stress management which are more effective in social life and business life are discussed with emphasis on individual and psychological issues. Within the scope of the research, a meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and stress management and whether it is effective or not is examined. In order to evaluate these two basic problems, 157 white collar personnel and managers operating in various sectors in Bursa were reached. In the research process, emotional intelligence questionnaire, Stress Response Styles questionnaire, and web based questionnaire method in which various demographic questionnaires were directed to participants were obtained. Data from the participants were analyzed using the SPSS program. Correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationship between the variables in the aim of the research. When the results of the analysis were evaluated, it was found that there was a meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and stress management. In the ongoing process, regression analysis was conducted to determine the presence and level of effectiveness of the variables. According to the results of the analysis, emotional intelligence was found to be effective on stress management. Based on all these results, it is expected that white collar workers and managers will manage stress effectively and efficiently as their emotional intelligence skills increase. In other words, people with high emotional intelligence skills are more successful in managing stress than low-achievers.
