Edirne province Lalapaşa district mouth (Reviwe-texts-dictionary)

Edirne is an important city connecting Anatolia and the Balkans in terms of historical and cultural values due to its geographical location. As it is a transition region, it has hosted various tribes throughout history. Various Turkish tribes live together in Edirne and its surroundings. Apart from the "Gacal" dialect, which is considered indigenous, the region also has immigrant dialects from Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia and Yugoslavia. Edirne, which has a very mixed ethnic structure, is the bearer of cultural values and dialect characteristics of various Turkish communities. The Edirne dialect, which is a part of the Eastern Thrace dialects, is included in the Rumelian dialects, which are an extension of the Anatolian dialects in the linguistic classification. In this study, we tried to examine the province of Edirne, which contains cultural values of various ethnic elements, within the scope of "Lalapaşa center and villages". We examined the dialect characteristics of the settlements in question within the borders of Lalapaşa in terms of phonetics and morphology. As a result of these studies, we tried to determine the place of Lalapaşa dialect among Türkiye Turkish dialects. In addition, we tried to contribute to the dialect atlas, which is the ultimate goal of dialect studies and is currently in the preparation phase. Lalapaşa central district and its villages are important in that no independent study has been conducted on them so far. This study, which we call the region, is important in terms of determining, at least partially, the dialect characteristics of Lalapaşa within the Edirne province and the cultural values preserved through language data. With the field study conducted for Lalapaşa dialects, we tried to determine the location of this dialect region within Eastern Thrace. As far as we know, the compilation and analysis of Rumelian dialects, which are an extension of Anatolian dialects, on the dialects of Edirne province will be completed. In preparing the study, we used the interview method based on field research. We visited the central district and villages of Lalapaşa one by one and interviewed the source persons and recorded the texts compiled from these source persons with a voice recorder. We conducted grammatical analysis on texts compiled from local sources and prepared a dictionary based on these texts. To put it briefly, our study consists of five parts: "Introduction", "Analysis", "Conclusion" and "Texts".
