Tekeci, Y Investıgatıon Of The Effects Of Occupatıon-Based Self-Regulatıon Program On Ocuupatıonal Performance In Preschool Chıldren Wıth Screen Addıctıon, Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Occupational Therapy Department of Doctor of Philosophy Thesis, Ankara, 2023. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of an occupation-based self-regulation programme on occupational performance in screen-addicted preschool children. Screen addiction causes problems in many areas such as self-regulation, executive functions and sensory processing in children and affects occupational performance. The analyses revealed that two groups of 10 individuals each with screen addiction were included in the study. In the study, screen time was measured using applications within the media devices themselves, in addition to the Problematic Media Use Scale, Head-Toes-Knee-Shoulder (HTKS), Dunn Sensory Profile, Short Child Roles Activities and Tasks Profile (SCOPE), and Canadian Activity Performance Scale. 8 week, two-sessions-per-week occupation-based self-regulation programme was implemented. When the development of the two groups before and after the intervention was compared screen time, problematic media use scale, auditory processing, visual processing, vestibular processing, multisensory processing, sensory processing related to endurance/tone, modulation related to body position and movement, modulation of movement affecting activity level, modulation of sensory input affecting emotional responses and activity level, emotional/social responses, and items defining response, registration, sensation-seeking, inattention/distractibility, sedentary, fine motor/perceptual skills, HTKS, Short Child Roles Activities and Tasks Profile-volution and habits (p < 0.01), behavioural outcomes of sensory processing, sensation-seeking, sensitivity, avoidance, sensory response, oral sensory sensitivity, Short Child Roles Activities and Tasks Profile-communication and interaction skills (p < 0.05). It has been found that a occupation-based self-regulation program is an effective approach to prevent screen addiction in preschool children,
