The life of al Jazari and his work named "Perpetual Flute"

Al Jazari was born in 1153, in Cezire located in North Mesopotamia Area, had lived in Diyarbakir and died in 1233 in Diyarbakir. He was an extraordinary scientist designed water controlled robots and water machines working by just water and some mechanical instruments. The goal of this study is to present Bedi?ûz-Zaman Ebû?l İzz El Cezerî (Al Jazari) with all aspects of him and especially to give detailed knowledge about one of well known his instrument called ?Perpetual Flute?. So, in this work first, the life story of Al Jazari?s presented. Then, the literature on his life is presented. Third, his works are abstracted. In the next part, the most important and well known works of Al Jazari are mentioned. Later special work of Al Jazari called ?Perpetual Flute? is examined with its details. Finally the study is concluded. As a result, Al Jazari is reintroduced for today?s scientists who interest in water energy; designing different mechanical systems based on water power, cybernetics, robotic system, etc.Key Words: Al-Jazari, Eb?ul Izz, Perpetual Flute, Sibernetic, Robotic, Automat, Water Clocks.
