Abstract (EN)

Maqdisi, who lived in the 15th century, is one of the distinguished figures nurtured by the Mamluk state, known for his knowledge and expertise in Arabic theology (kalam), Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), and various other sciences. Although sources mention two of his works in the fields of Arabic and theology (kalam), only his scholy on Abu'l-Mu'in al-Nasafi's "Bahr al-Kalam," titled "Ghayat al-Maram fi Sharh Bahr al-Kalam," is extant in the field of theology. It is observed that in "Bahr al-Kalam," he strives to elucidate the topics addressed by the author and to convey his own thoughts by including the views of various ecoles of theology, particularly the Maturidi ecols. This scholy, authored by Maqdisi, demonstrates the significant position of Hanafi-Maturidi thought in the field of theology, as it does in other areas of knowledge. Our thesis does not aim to cover all the issues addressed in the commentary but focuses specifically on the topics related to the divine attributes. Our study aims both to provide insight into the state of theological science (kalam) during the Mamluk era and to illustrate the approach of a scholar from the later period (Muta'akhkhirun) towards a work authored in the earlier period (Mutaqaddimun) within the context of divine attributes.
