Hyms detected in Elâziğ notation, literary and theoretical studies

Anatolia is an important geography that has hosted many civilizations and achieved cultural diversity. The diversity that appeared in the culture of this geography turned into richness, and richness manifested itself as a cultural reflection in many regions of Anatolia. One of the regions where cultural reflections appear in Anatolia is the city of Elâzığ, which has managed to transfer language, history, skills, art, traditions, customs estc values from past to present. It is certain that the cultural structure of the city of Elâzığ, which strives to preserve its tradition, can be looked at from different perspectives, but in this study, the city's sufi music culture is focused on, thus the basis of the research is based on the identification and evaluation of the hymns performed in Elâzığ. The source of the hymns performed in Elâzığ is the sufi culture of the city. Because the presence of sufi-related beings such as scholars, sufis, saints, sheikhs and dervishes in the city for many years and the maintenance of the sufi way of thinking has added great strength to the sufi culture. However, the decrease in the number of people interested in sufism in recent years has affected the artistic aspect of Sufism and caused the hymns to be worried about being forgotten. Another factor of this artistic anxiety felt in Elâzığ hymns is that the works are not notated. Hymns have continued to be transmitted from ear to ear through the meşk system, which is the traditional performance form of Turkish music. Hymns, which are not written down and performed only based on human memory, have tended to change and disappear over time. For this reason, a compilation study was carried out for Elâzığ hymns, 40 identified works were recorded in the Türk music notation system, theoretical and literary examinations were made of the notated works and their predisposition to the hymn genre was found out. With this study conducted on the identification and evaluation of hymns performed in Elâzığ; the aim is to preserve and preserve the place of hymns in the religious music repertoire. It is thought that this study will shed light on the preservation and survival of the region's existence in sufi music.
