Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigation of the physical and physiological parameters of elite and non-elite female underwater hockey players. In this study, 28 female ( mean age 19,6±2,5; mean height 163,6±5,8 cm; mean mass 60,7±7,4kg) underwater hockey players were participated as voluntarily. In ttihs study, two groups were formed aaccording to their training age. The first group represented the athletes who were over seven and were participated the national team previously, and the second group was presented the athletes with the training age six years or less.Body weights, height lengths, skin fold thicknesses, fat percentages, length and circumference measurements, aerobic endurance (MaxVO₂ indirectly), explosive power (via vertical jump), claw forces and heart rate parameters during training session were measured. Also sport-specific underwater beep test was applied to participants. SPSS 15.0 package program was used for statistical analysis by examined Mann Whitney U test and Chi-square analysis to compare categorical parameters according to groups. When It was examined the difference between the groups, It was found no significant differences between height, weight and femur length, percent body fat, lean body weight and fat weight, chest circumference index, somatotype characteristics, vertical jump, right paw force, flexibility, MaxVO₂, systolic - diastolic pressure, resting heart rate pulse parameters (p>0,05). Additionally, the significant differences were found in the parameters of cormique index, sit up, push up, left grip force, underwater beep, HR HRmax and HRmean heart rate parameters among the groups (p<0,05). As a result, there was no difference in some physical parameters according to the training age variableS, but significant differences were found in motor tests and sport- specific underwater beep test and heart rate numbers. Keywords: Underwater Hockey, Number of Heart Beats, Underwater Beep Test, Aerobic Performance, Anthropometric properties.
